Somewhere along the path to starting my own business I found that networking with other women in business was not only fun and inspiring it was crucial to my success as a woman in business. It was with this in mind that Make Mine Pink was created.
Founded in 2004, Make Mine Pink was born from a personal need to find other like minded women like myself that were struggling to not only get their businesses started, but to gain the recognition we knew our business needed to succeed.
I’d found the journey thus far to be lonely and isolating. Anyone that was already successful, seemed reluctant to share advice, perhaps for fear that I might be in direct competition with them and their business. I asked questions and more often than not didn’t even receive a response. Determined to find those answers myself and to make my business a success despite the obstacles in my way, I forged ahead. I spent countless hours on the web and at the local library doing research. I would make many mistakes along the way but starting my own business wasn’t one of them! Looking back, these mistakes and what seemed like endless research served as the backbone for Make Mine Pink. If I could help other women avoid some of the mistakes I’d made and help them benefit from my research and triumphs, I was more than willing to do that. As a matter of fact, I was determined to do that. I’d established myself as in expert in what not to do when you start a business without even knowing it!
In 2004 I rounded up a few business women I had come to know on the web, seven of us at that time, and asked them to join me. Through networking, shared experiences, resources and advertising, our journey to success became a little easier.
Over the years we have gone from seven members to over 600 members, All women in various stages of business. Some hobbyists, some web-preneurs and others opening a brick and mortar store. As a group and individually, are happy to share our knowledge, wisdom and especially inspiration with each other. We share resources, brainstorm new ideas and are excited at each other's success.
